We love this time of year as we look forward in anticipation to the first special event of the 2018 Fort season-the Colonial Trade Faire and Musket & Rifle Frolic, a JURIED living history event depicting the Illinois Country ca. 1750-1790. Thank you to the Kaskaskia Company for their continued hard work organizing the 2018 event taking place Saturday, April 7 & Sunday, April 8. The general public is invited to join us and please review the April Trade Faire flyer above. We invite visitors to travel back in time and visit us in the Illinois Country for this wonderful event. Remember-Les Amis is an Illinois Bicentennial partner and thrilled that our April event is listed as an approved event.

The April Colonial Trade Faire at Fort de Chartres has been a staple event for close to 20 years. This year’s upcoming event will be no different, with the exception of the hosts. The Chasseurs du Datchurat are retiring from hosting the Trade Faire and they have handed the event reins to The Kaskaskia Company. The Kaskaskia Company is a small group of like minded individuals from Le Pays des Illinois with decidedly French leanings. Keeping with the traditions of the Chasseurs, the event standards, rules, and jury process will remain mostly unchanged. Again, we thank the Chasseurs du Datchurat, for their hard work through the years establishing such a premier 18th century event in the Mid-West. We will do our best and hope to carry on their proud tradition. Sincerely, The Kaskaskia Company

This Fort de Chartres special event will be hosted by The Kaskaskia Company, sponsored by Les Amis du Fort de Chartres, with additional support from the site agency Illinois Historic Preservation, which is part of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
